Ambasciatori Palace Hotel, Rome

Via Vittorio Veneto 62, Rome

This is a very nice location and a charming old building. The Ambasciatori Palace Hotel sits on the Via Veneto - one of the most famous streets in Rome, and certainly one of the most fashionable. A grand building, nicely lit from the street, it has a rather grand provenance too, having begun business accommodating diplomats from the numerous foreign embassies of the area. The bedrooms convey an atmosphere of comfort, harmony and wellbeing. You're in bright and spacious surroundings, with plush drapes and the colour scheme softened by the light from Venetian chandeliers. All rooms, whether doubles or suites, have radio, minibar, bathroom, air conditioning, phone and television.

This is a good base for work, rest or play. The conference centre at this Via Veneto hotel is one of the finest in Rome, with 11 meeting rooms accommodating anything from ten to 200 delegates. And after a hard day in meetings, why not unwind with an 'aperitivo' at the Lounge Bar (with live music each evening) and then dine in style at La Terrazza restaurant. And then head out to explore Rome by night. The Via Veneto has a host of restaurants and bars, great for al fresco dining on warmer nights. There is the world famous Harry's Bar, immortalised in Federico Fellini's quintessential Roman movie 'La Dolce Vita'. This was the street and the era that brought the phrase into the language.

Or head a little further afield - there are numerous unmissable sights nearby. See the Capuchin Church and the Aurelian Wall, while the Villa Borghese and its gardens are very close by. The Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain are within 20 minutes walk, and there are Metro stations nearby (as well as cabs and buses of course).
