The Art Hotel offers two-star accommodation in the Veneto town of Mirano, itself located 20km away from Venice on the mainland. This is a superb historic location, with huge parks home to the impressive Veneto villas (built by Andrea Palladio and his students) for which the region is famous. Largely built during the sixteenth century, these sumptuous buildings, for which Palladio drew on the architectural 'rules' of Classical times, were holiday homes par excellence for the rich Venetian families at the time - they would typically also have a town house in Venice, Treviso, Padua (Padova) or Vicenza.

This Veneto hotel is 20km from Padua, 25km from Treviso and 8km from Riviera del Brenta. Public transport from here is very good, with buses and trains to the important historical sights. Leave your car in the free car park and hop on the bus to Venice (Venezia) - there is a service every 20 minutes from 4.30am right through till half past midnight; the bus stop is just 100 metres from the hotel. Mira-Mirano rail station is 4km away and has a good service to Venice (taking 20 minutes) and Padua (15 minutes).

The hotel itself is on a quiet road, surrounded by woodland - a very nice seventies building equally suitable for holidaymakers or business travellers. The rooms are single, double, triple or quadruple, all with private bathroom, air conditioning and heating, phone and TV and internet access. Breakfast is available though not included in your room rate - many guests choose to head out early and breakfast in the city. A few minutes from the hotel, you can visit the park at Villa Belvedere, with its old mill, lake (with a castle in the middle) and caves. The hotel has bikes available - a great way to tour this area.
