And of course there is beautiful Lake Garda to explore, with boat trips onto the lake and stopping off at the lovely towns that line its banks; Bardolino looks over at Lombardy on the west shore, and neighbours include Manerba del Garda, Moniga del Garda, Padenghe sul Garda, and Pastrengo. Venice is 130km away and Verona just 25km. This little town is famous for the Bardolino red wine, a big vintage which won DOC status back in 1968.
