Guests are within easy reach of Gubbio town centre, a city that was very important to the Roman empire, and you can visit the second largest surviving Roman theatre in the world, built in local limestone in the 1st century BC. The town is in the north eastern part of Umbria, and the narrow medieval streets wind up the slopes of Mount Ingino, constructed from dark grey stone in a Gothic style. There is a lot to see and do and guests can view the Eugubino tables, bronze tablets which are the oldest examples of Umbrian text in the world.
