Corte Altavilla, Conversano

Tucked away in the attractive and historic town of Conversano, the Corte Altavilla is a delightful small hotel. Conversano is a charming old town on the edge of the south-eastern Murge, in southern Italy's Puglia region. The town was once the home of the Aragonese Earls of Acquaviva. The countryside around is dotted with ancient whitewashed farmhouses and trulli (the typical cone-shaped dwellings of Puglia) interspersed with verdant olive groves. Just a few kilometres away is a beautiful sandy beach. Popular attractions such as the fabulous Grotte di Castellana with its shimmering caves of stalactites and stalagmites, and the extraordinary Trulli of Alberobello (now a Unesco World Heritage site) are within easy driving distance.

The Corte Altavilla has 23 romantic rooms, each with private balcony and each one carefully restored and full of charm.
