The Express Holiday Inn is a glamorous four-star hotel housed in a wonderful avant-garde building on the outskirts of the city of Parma. Parma is a wonderfully cultured city in the heart of the fertile Po Valley, home to the delicious dry-cured hams and the most famous of Italian cheeses.

There is much more to Parma than ham and cheese, though. Art lovers will know Parma as the home of Correggio, creator of the magnificent frescoes that adorn the the dome of the magnificent 12th-century Duomo, while Parmigianino, another son of this city, supplied the richly ornamented frescos in the church of Santa Maria della Steccata. There is plenty in the way of music here, too - the composer Verdi's home town is just a few kilometres from Parma, and audiences at the Opera House here are reckoned to be every bit as demanding as those at Milan's La Scala.

The Express Holiday Inn has 70 generously proportioned rooms, tastefully decorated and furnished in contemporary style.
