The Grand Hotel Osman is in the little town of Atena Lucana, near Salerno in Italy's Campania region. This is the Cilento National Park, south of Salerno and the Sorrento peninsula, a beautiful green expanse on Italy's southern Mediterranean coast. The hotel, lying in the Diano Valley, has a super natural setting. There are 52 guest rooms, with seven suites and a presidential suite. The hotel has a conference centre, which is also a WiFi hotspot; there is also a swimming pool and fitness/wellness centre.

Nearby sights are many, with the gorgeous Cilento National Park of course. There is the Cathedral at Padula and the Caves of Peetosa. South of here is where southern Italy (or the 'mezzogiorno') really starts, with the region of Basilicata. The city of Potenza is the biggest nearby town, one of the highest provincial capitals in Italy, and with some interesting medieval churches, palazzi and the ruins of a Roman villa.
