Holiday Hill Hotel, Todi
This Todi hotel is on a small hill between Todi and Acqua Sparta, a small town close to Assisi, Todi and Perugia in Umbria, the 'green heart' of central Italy. Todi itself is on a large hill which overlooks the Tiber river, and legend has it that the town was built by Hercules after he killed Cacus here. The town was more probably founded by the Umbri tribe in the seventh century BC; it has one of the most picturesque piazzas in Italy, with the cathedral and several palazzos fronting onto the square.
The three-star Holiday Hill Hotel, Todi is popular for the panoramic views that it commands from its vantage point on the hill. From here, visitors can take in the beautiful scenery from the garden and children's play area as well. To relax, there is a spa which offers massages, and a jacuzzi where you can unwind after a long day's sightseeing. Guests can dine in the restaurant, which serves local cuisine, and there is also a bar and lounge where you can sample local and Italian wines.
Each of the rooms is decorated in a traditional style, complemented by modern comforts. There are en-suite bathroom facilities in every room, including a shower, bath, toilet and bidet, and hairdryer. All rooms have their own telephone. This hotel in Todi is in a picturesque setting and provides terrific access to Umbria and central Italy. With historic hill towns, rolling green meadows, the soaring peaks of the Apennines, and chequered with olive groves and vineyards, this beautiful region is the quintessence of central Italy.
