The Hotel Abi d'Oru sits next to the gorgeous white beaches of the Golfo di Marinella, an exclusive location on the gorgeous stretch of Sardinian coastline that is the Costa Smeralda. The airport at Olbia is just 12km from here and the lovely tourist village at Porto Rotondo just 4km away.

Beautifully located in every way then, lying between the azure waters of the Mediterranean and the green hinterland of this Gallura area of northern Sardinia. This hotel is one of the best known on the island, with an elegant traditional design of pitched tiled roofs. It resembles nothing so much as an old Sardinian village, with terraces and porticoes emerging from the lush Mediterranean vegetation.

There are 170 rooms, with most of them facing the ocean, and all of them furnished in a typical Sardinian fashion. The colours are warm and the furnishings cosy. Every room has satellite TV, air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, phone, safe and either a balcony or a patio. There are also rooms for guests with disabilities. The junior suites are perfect for families, having a living room and two separate sleeping area with up to four beds.

The hotel has two main restaurants, Il Laghetto and Il Fenicotteri, with outside terraces, sea views and close proximity to the swimming pool. The Marinella beach restaurant has terrific buffets and grilled specialities, such as freshly caught fish for lunch. The beach also has a pizzeria and oyster bar, with happy hour drinks. The lobby bar, with splendid bay views, is the place for pre- or post-dinner drinks. There is also a piano bar and a poolside bar. You have two tennis courts, a volleyball court, freshwater swimming pool and children's area, and the hotel has a gym.
