This recently built, modern hotel in Castelvetrano offers four-star accommodation on the south-west coast of the beautiful island of Sicily. The four-star Hotel Admeto is situated in a spectacular location with panoramic views over the Mediterranean, near the evocative ancient site at Selinunte (the Greek city of Selinus, famously attacked by Hannibal with battering rams). Here you will find no less than eight ruined temples, which were probably destroyed by a succession of earthquakes. Today Selinunte is a magical, desolate place, overgrown with acanthus and wild celery (from which it takes its name). It's hard to believe that here stood one of the greatest cities of the ancient civilised world. Castelvetrano itself shouldn't be overlooked: its church of San Domenico is bursting with stucco angels, saints and putti (cherubs).
