Hotel Al Gabbiano, Bosa

The Hotel Al Gabbiano, Bosa sits on the western coast of the island of Sardinia (Sardegna). There is a free car park and transfers can be arranged to the airport (Alghero airport is only 50km or so north up the coast). The hotel is handy for the beach and there are a number of bars nearby. Bosa town, meanwhile, is a 25-minute stroll away, along the river.

Bosa itself is an historic town, set on the banks of the River Temo, and clustered around the hilltop castle (the Castello Malaspina, raised by the Malaspina family in 1122). From the riverbank, the narrow lanes (almost corridors in fact), climb from the cathedral, through the old district of Sa Costa to the top of the town.
