Riccione itself is one of the prime resorts on the Italian Adriatic Riviera, along with its sister town of Rimini, just up the coast. The town has some of Italy's best-known theme parks, among there number Oltremare, Aquafan and Indiana Golf (with dolphins, seals, sea horses and more). Riccione has broad expanses of sandy beach of course, but also a fine promenade and extensive cycle lanes, making a bike the perfect way to get around.
