Hotel Ancora, Molina di Fiemme

Hotel Ancora is a pretty three-star hotel located in the picturesque village of Molina di Fiemme in the Italian Dolomites. Originally built in 1880 and just a stone's throw from the World Skiing Championships' famous slopes, this warm, friendly hotel has been welcoming skiers and mountain-lovers for over a century. A wealth of outdoor pursuits are on hand in the area, with downhill and cross-country skiing, horse-riding and fly-fishing centres all within walking distance of the hotel.

There are 40 simply furnished, comfortable rooms, all with wonderful views of the surrounding mountain scenery plus en-suite facilities, cable/satellite TV and direct-dial phone line. Every effort has been made to ensure the rooms are accessible for guests with disabilities, particularly those using a wheelchair.

The hotel prides itself on its family-friendly focus and there is a special tariff for under-13s, with children under four staying free of charge. The hotel has a special family room as well as indoor and outdoor play areas.

The homely restaurant serves an imaginative menu of typical Italian and international dishes and there is also a cafe serving light, informal meals. Guests can also enjoy an aperitif or an afternoon coffee in the relaxed lounge/bar. In addition, the hotel has a small health suite, equipped with swimming pool, Swedish sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and spa pool. The area is popular with cyclists and guests are welcome to hire mountain bikes from the hotel.
