Guspini itself is a town of some 13,000 people in western Sardinia, lying around 62km north west of the capital, Cagliari and close to the western coastline of the island. There is a very good collection of 'Nuraghe' dwellings (the mysterious beehive shaped prehistoric dwellings of Sardinia's original, lost culture) close to Guspini. The town has some historic churches and quite beautiful countryside. There are natural wonders such as the Columnar Basalts (volcanic rocks).
