Hotel Araba Fenice is a wonderful four-star lakeside hotel in an area known to the locals as the Gulf of Flowers. It sits just a little way along the coast from the town of Iseo, sitting on the shore of the lake that bears the same name. Lake Iseo is the smallest of Italy's lakes and lies jewel-like, surrounded by a gorgeous mountainous landscape. Travellers can visit the other pretty towns along the shore or on the lake's large island by way of a number of ferries that zigzag regularly across the lake. Brescia and Bergamo are just a short drive away and there are numerous walks and excursions along the shores of the lake and into the mountainous hinterland beyond.

The hotel has 43 charming rooms, all elegantly decorated and with cable/satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, safety deposit box and minibar. Many of the rooms have delightful lakeside views and a sumptuous Continental breakfast is served either in your room or down in the bright breakfast area alongside other guests. The hotel staff welcome families with young children and there is a specially reduced rate for youngsters under the age of 12.

The refined Bella Iseo restaurant has a pleasant lakeside terrace which is open from Spring to late Autumn and serves a delicious menu of local and international specialities. A restful lounge/bar offers an extensive range of long drinks and "aperitivi" in a tranquil, unhurried atmosphere. There is a light, airy conference room equipped with audio-visual aids for business guests, and all major credit cards are welcome.
