Hotel Argentina is an attractive beach-front hotel in the popular resort of Senigallia, Marche, Italy. Known as the "Velvet Beach" for its pale, powdery sands and mild climate, this stretch of Adriatic coast has been a favourite with Italian families since the 1850s. As well as its lovely, clean beaches, the town of Senigallia is steeped in history, with a wonderful Renaissance fortress and the house in which Pope Pius IX was born. Just a few kilometres away are the fabulous caves of Frasassi, while the cities of Ancona, Urbino, Loreto and Gubbio are less than an hour's drive away.

The hotel was refurbished in 2005 and has 37 immaculate rooms, all comfortably air-conditioned and simply yet tastefully furnished, each with a neat en-suite bathroom and a balcony with spectacular sea views. Every room has a television, direct-dial telephone and a fax machine and all rooms are accessible by lift. The hotel has a family-friendly policy and under-eights stay free of charge in their parents' room. There is also a babysitting service and an outdoor play area and the restaurant serves a children's menu. Cots and high chairs are available.

Breakfast is a sumptuous Continental-style buffet and there is a bright, cheerful restaurant and a relaxing lounge bar. The hotel also has a handy bureau de change and left-luggage facility. Car parking is free and guests can pay via Visa, MasterCard or Amex.
