Around 140km north-east of Cagliari and 30km east of Nuoro, the little Sardinian town of Orosei is a peaceful haven on the east coast. Beautiful sands, blue seas and cloudless skies - an idyllic spot on the Italian Mediterranean. Hotel Baia Marina is on the Via Del Mare, leading from the centre of town to the main beach. This modern hotel has 41 rooms, all doubles, four of which are specially adapted for guests with limited mobility.

It's a mountainous region, with large swathes protected under the aegis of the various national parks, particularly, the Parco Naturale del Golfo di Orosei e dei Gennargentu. There are superb historic towns too, in Cagliari, Nuoro and a host of smaller villages.
