Hotel Barocco, Rome
On the majestic Piazza Barberini, with Bernini's magnificent baroque Triton Fountain, stands a charming little hotel in Rome. The very name of the hotel pays homage to the style that inspired the most beautiful squares and monuments of Rome: the Hotel Barocco is a unique and very lovely hotel in Italy.
The entrance on the peaceful Via della Purificazione leads into a cosy, refined hall, with sofas covered in beige and orange-striped damask, oriental carpets and trompe l'oeil walls with scenes of classical Rome. The intimate and relaxing breakfast room next to the hall has elements picked out in cherrywood.
Every one of the 41 rooms, set over six floors, has a unique layout. Some have terraces and balconies overlooking parts of the piazza, some overlook the pretty rooftops of Rome, the stately palazzos and penthouses, with their flower-bedecked balconies. Every room is similarly luxurious though, with satellite TV, air conditioning, wall safe, PC connection and hairdryer.
Room service runs from 4pm to midnight. In addition, there is a 24/7 front desk, concierge services, left luggage and storage, dry cleaning and laundry service. There are babysitting and valet parking facilities, and guests at this hotel in Italy have use of a health suite, 1km away, with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.
