This Venice hotel is an 18th-century building in Calle Frezzeria, one of the most important streets in the historic centre of the city. Just a stone's throw from St Mark's Square, and within easy reach of the vaporetti (the public water-buses) and traghetti (water-taxis), it is an ideal downtown base from which to explore this fascinating Italian island city.

The Hotel Casanova has 50 rooms - 45 rooms and five suites - on four floors, and can accommodate up to 90 people. The rooms are bright and comfortable, with Art Deco styling. All have a private bathroom and a range of modern amenities including air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, hairdryer and safe. This accommodation has an elevator/lift, and breakfast can be served in your room at no extra charge.

The hotel is close to the Calle XXII Marzo, famous for its designer boutiques, and in a busy area well served by banks, post offices, restaurants and theatres. Just a short walk from this hotel in Venice is the Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace), once the home of the Doge, the elected ruler of Venice, and the venue for the city's law courts, civil administration and bureaucracy. It was also formerly the city jail.
