This is also a starting and end point for stages on the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France cycle races. But skiing is, of course, the main game in town. Sestriere has fantastic facilities. Lying at the heart of the Via Lattea (Milky Way) ski area (which extends over the border into France) it is a neighbour to resorts such as Cesana Torinese, Sauze d'Oulx, Montgenevre, Claviere and San Sicario. There are 146 pistes, 400km of ski trails and 120km of trail supported by artificial snow. There is even floodlit night skiing. This Sestriere ski hotel puts you right at the centre of the Via Lattea.
