Hotel Ciuri di Badia, near Trapani

A very nice hotel in the heart of western Sicily - the Hotel Ciuri di Badia lies amid the rolling hills of Trapani province, in Buseto Palizzolo. Arranged in holiday village style around a lovely central swimming pool, the hotel rooms are divided around 12 blocks, each realised in a different colour and named after typical Sicilian fruits and flowers. The 48 bedrooms are dressed with traditional Sicilian ceramics. Rooms are single or double. Each has minibar, air conditioning, telephone, bathroom with shower, TV and balcony.

There is so much to see in this beautiful part of Sicily. Nearby we have the archeological site at Segesta, a remarkably well preserved example of an early Greek temple, and dating from 424BC. There is the ancient hilltop town of Erice (which dates back to the 12th century BC) and which has stunning views down over the coastline of western Sicily. From here you can see the Egadi Islands and (on a clear day) you can even see Tunisia on the African coast. There is beautiful San Vito Lo Capo, with its marvellous beaches and the Zingaro nature reserve.
