This gorgeous historic three-star hotel near Lake Maggiore lies tucked away in the sun-drenched bay of Colmegna, just about two kilometres from the small town of Luino on the shores of the lake. There are more than 10,000 square metres of ancient parkland in the surrounding area, which is full of beautiful lakeside walks leading to romantic little harbours and coves. Colmegna itself is perched on the eastern side of Lake Maggiore, surrounded by wonderful mountain scenery. There is an excellent golf course approximately 30 minutes' drive from the hotel and local sporting activities include tennis, cycling, horse riding, waterskiing and windsurfing.

Lake Maggiore's Colmegna is a small hotel with a laid-back, friendly ambience. There are just 25 guest rooms here, all with modern en-suite bathroom facilities, satellite television, direct-dial telephone, a well-stocked minibar and a personal safe deposit box. Wireless internet connection is available throughout the hotel at no additional charge. There are also three handsome self-contained apartments with fabulous views onto Lake Maggiore, which have recently been completely refurbished and decorated in typical Mediterranean style. A generous buffet breakfast is included in the room rate, and there is also an option for half-board accommodation. Children under the age of four stay free of charge, however there is a small charge for pets.

There is a lovely terraced restaurant at this Luino hotel, overlooking the lake and offering a delicious menu of local specialities and Mediterranean dishes accompanied by fine wines from the hotel's cellar. There is also an atmospheric terrace bar. Guests will find friendly, efficient service on the front desk and here guests will find luggage storage facilities, newspapers, a safety deposit service, fax/photocopying facilities and plenty of tourist information. There is also a packed lunch service and an internet point. Parking is free of charge.
