Hotel Colosseum, Rome
The Hotel Colosseum, Rome is on Via Sforza, just north of the ancient edifice from which it takes its name. This quiet street is in the heart of the ancient city, set between Santa Maria Maggiore (one of Rome's four major basilicas), near to the main train station at Termini and to the Domus Aurea. This Rome hotel also occupies one of the highest points of the city on the Esquiline Hill (one of the famed Seven Hills on which Rome was built). This ancient site rises above the valley in which the Colosseum was built in the first century AD. And many of the most important sites of Ancient Rome lie within the immediate area. There is the Colosseum itself of course; also the Domus Aurea (or 'Golden House'): Emperor Trajan constructed his complex of baths here (with remains still visible).
This Rome hotel is well located for bus and metro stops (the subway/underground railway that serves Rome). From the top floor of the hotel one can look down over the city and its ancient monuments. There is parking only 50 metres from the hotel (Rome itself is better enjoyed on foot or by taking public transport), and the Hotel Colosseum has two meeting rooms. Rooms are single, double or triple, all air conditioned, with private bathroom, room safe and minibar. The hotel has internet access of course, there is a lounge bar and 24-hour front desk. Here you'll find laundry and dry cleaning services, safety deposit boxes and an express checkout system.
