Marina Romea is a lovely location - the beach area for the city of Ravenna on Italy's Adriatic coast, and with a setting of green pinewoods through which you walk to the glorious blue sea. Sandy beaches stretch to north and south, with the coastline of Emilia-Romagna laid out beneath the clear blue Italian skies.

Ravenna is famous worldwide for its superb ancient mosaics, spread around several sites in the city. If you're looking less for culture and more for family fun, you won't go wrong with Mirabilandia, 10 kilometres south along the coast. This theme park has fun rides for all ages, and is surprisingly affordable.
