Sicily's Hotel Cortile Merce lies in the centre of Trapani - an area steeped in history. Just a stone's throw from the picturesque port, there is plenty to see and do and many views to simply take in. The three-star guest house opened in 1996 and has been completely refurbished and modernised, yet still retains many of its original architectural features. Opening up on to a delightful courtyard - from where the hotel gets its name - this is a charming place to base yourself when staying in the area.

The 34 rooms are all bright and clean and offer private bathrooms, air conditioning, direct-dial phone, colour television and alarm clock. Rooms are split level and apartment style, with a small kitchen if you wish to prepare your own meals, so you can spread out, relax and create a home from home.

Staff are on hand to assist in any way they can and offer a left luggage facility - so you can rest assured your possessions are secure if you have an evening flight and still want to explore. Internet access is also available at the hotel, so you can catch up on business or check in with those back home. Bike hire can be arranged via reception and there is a safe place for bicycles to be stored. Pets are welcome, as are children, and there is a dedicated travel desk to assist you with any enquiries you might have about touring the region.
