Managed by the De Rosa family for more than 30 years, this three-star hotel on Italy's Amalfi Coast offers a friendly welcome to the town of Maiori. The Hotel De Rosa is in a central spot, but still pleasantly quiet, just 50 metres from the lovely beach at Maiori. The town itself is a gem, lying between Salerno and Amalfi on the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula. This is an idyllic setting of perfumed gardens and fragrant lemon groves.

All the rooms here (for one, two, three or four guests) are available on a bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis. All are spacious with television, telephone, and a bathroom with shower and WC. The roomy dining room is air conditioned and serves the best in regional (Campania) cuisine, as well as the well-known Italian specialities. There is parking for guests out front, and the reception has internet access, fax and safe deposit services.

Maiore itself has the largest and arguably the prettiest beach on the whole Amalfi Coast. Sights to be visited in and around the town include the Mezzacapo Palace, the Sanctuary of Avvocata, the Castle of St Nicola de Thoro-Plano, and the Collegiate Church of St Maria a Mare. From here you can easily makes day trips into the buzzing city of Naples (Napoli) and around the Gulf of Salerno. The coast road around the Sorrento Peninsula is a delight in itself (though we hope you have a head for heights). And there are lovely towns to visit including Ravello, Sorrento and Amalfi.
