On the western shore, you can visit the Gardone Riviera. It has botanical gardens and Il Vittoriale, the imposing former house of famous poet Gabriele D'Annunzio that was given to him by Mussolini. On the eastern shore there's Bardolino, as in the famous wine, and to the north there's Torbole, renowned for its water sports.
