Hotel Diana is a small, friendly hotel conveniently situated in the heart of Pompeii's historic centre, just 200 metres from the entrance to the ruins of the ancient Roman city, perched on the lower slopes of the still-active Mount Vesuvius. One of Italy's most popular tourist attractions, the 65-hectare archaeological site created from the volcanic ash from the eruption in 79AD offers visitors a remarkable insight into everyday life in ancient Roman times. Chariot tracks are still clearly visible on the ancient cobbled roads and exquisitely preserved colourful wall paintings bear witness to the vibrant culture of Roman times.
