This is a fine old palazzo, built in the 1400s, in the Gothic style by the Trevisan family. They in turn were succeeded by the Grimaldi clan, who remained owners for some two centuries, improving and enlarging the building. Now, it has become a luxurious four-star hotel, a perfect blend of past and present, with the desires and needs of the clientele always at the heart of things. The main facade of the building holds two huge quadrifore (four-arched typically Venetian windows) which overlook the Rio of Palazzo Ducale, the canal over which arches the famous Ponte Sospiri, the Bridge of Sighs.
