Hotel Ferrari, Chiavari

This delightful three-star hotel in Genoa province is idyllically located at the centre of the lovely Gulf of Tigullio, just a little distance from Rapallo. Conveniently set on Chiavari's main street, just a short distance away from the railway station, the historic centre and the promenade, this is a great location for a holiday or sightseeing trip in this lovely part of Italy. The glamorous seaside towns of Portofino and Santa Margherita lie just a little distance along the coast, while the provincial capital Genoa is a short drive westwards. The wonderful villages of Cinque Terre are easily reachable by ferry or train from here and there are many lovely hiking routes around the Val d'Aveto park and the Nature Reserve of Agoraie.

Chiavari's Hotel Ferrari has recently undergone a comprehensive programme of renovation and modernisation and now offers excellent standards of three-star accommodation in an attractive setting. Rooms are modern and airy and all rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities, direct-dial telephone, satellite television and individually controlled air-conditioning. Guest rooms are soundproofed for extra comfort and bathrooms are fitted with a shower and hairdryer. Cots are available for little ones and some rooms have a separate seating area or a pleasant balcony or verandah.

A plentiful buffet breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant, which also serves a lunch and dinner menu featuring typical local specialities and classic Italian cuisine. There is also a friendly lounge/bar, a restful reading room and a comfortable TV room. There is no parking at the hotel, however there is plenty of free parking close to the pier which lies just a five-minute walk away. The hotel has an arrangement with several swimming pools and private beaches, which guests are welcome to use.

The hotel has friendly, efficient 24-hour service on the front desk: here guests can find a dry-cleaning and laundry service, a currency exchange and a left-luggage and storage facilities. Nearby there is a diving centre and a horse riding school and there are plenty of excursions on offer from the hotel.
