This Ligurian hotel is housed in an attractive four-storey building which features traditional Italian architecture and murals on the facade. It is located on the edge of La Spezia's pedestrianised zone,which offers a varied selection of cafes and restaurants as well as good shopping. The town's Museo del Castello features a good collection of Roman and pre-Roman artefacts, all of which have been discovered in the local area. Inland from La Spezia are the Apuan Alps, which have breathtaking scenery and are famous as the source of Carrara marble. La Spezia is located on the Ligurian Sea: the Cinque Terre, a collection of five traditional though quite unique Italian villages, are ten kilometres up the coast. The villages can be reached by train (La Spezia's station is one kilometre from the hotel) or by ferry from the harbour, which is 100 metres from the hotel. Pisa, with its iconic leaning tower, offers an excellent day trip; it lies 60 kilometres from La Spezia.
