Hotel Giulio Cesare, Rome
Set within an elegant, aristocratic old town house in the residential (but very central) Prati area of Rome, the Hotel Giulio Cesare is set on the western bank of the River Tiber. A quietly refined building, the hotel is furnished in period style with authentic Louis XVI pieces. The guest rooms are complemented by a conference room and lounges. The public rooms feature old prints and paintings, marble fireplaces and oriental carpets. Rooms are a choice of single use of double, double and triple - there are also deluxe options. All have a bathroom with shower, air conditioning, direct dial phone, TV with movie channel, direct modem link, desk and lamp, minibar and hairdryer. This Rome hotel has a 24-hour front desk, lounge bar and restaurant.
From here you have a ten-minute walk east to the Piazza del Popolo, while it's a quarter of an hour to the Vatican City from here. The metro station (underground/subway) at Lepanto is just 100 metres from the hotel door and, within ten minutes, will take you to the major tourist spots in the capital. There is plenty to see nearby this hotel in Rome, with the Keats-Shelley memorial house, the Palazzo Altemps, the Spanish Steps and the Ara Pacis. There is the excellent Piero Costantini wine shop and you can take river boat trips on the Tiber.
