You gaze out from here to the harbour wall and the Spanish watchtower, which in centuries past gave warning of approaching invaders (Sardinia is a much-invaded island). On the northern side of this beach town is the River Temo - on the other side of which lies the historic town of Bosa itself. An ancient development, it is crowned by the Castello Malaspina (the castle erected by the Malaspina family in the twelfth century). From here, narrow winding lanes wend their way down to the foot of the town, the Cathedral and the riverside. From Bosa Marina to Bosa old town it's a pleasant riverside walk, taking roughly 25 minutes.
