This super three-star hotel in Salerno province is part of the prestigious Best Western hotel chain and lies in the unspoilt little resort of Palinuro, on Italy's beautiful Cilento coast. Originally opened in 1967, the Hotel La Conchiglia has recently undergone a comprehensive programme of modernisation and now offers excellent standards of comfort and hospitality in a wonderful location. The hotel is located in the centre of this attractive village. The rooms are stylish and modern and both the restaurant and bar have gorgeous views out over the Gulf of Salerno, with the little harbour of Palinuro in the foreground. Sunset on the terrace is a truly magnificent experience and it is said that you can see the island of Capri from here on a clear day.

There are 28 beautifully appointed, modern, comfortable guest rooms here, all with spacious en-suite bathroom facilities, individually controlled air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, satellite television with a variety of foreign-language channels including Sky and radio/alarm clock. A generous continental-style buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and many of the rooms offer beautiful sea views. Bathrooms are equipped with crisp, fresh towels and a fitted hairdryer and there is internet connectivity throughout the hotel. Room service is available and all rooms are accessible by lift/elevator.

The restaurant at La Conchiglia has an excellent reputation and offers a tempting menu of delicious classic Italian cooking and typical local specialities. There is also a spacious lounge/bar with an extensive drinks list and there is regular live music and dancing here. There is friendly, efficient 24-hour service on the front desk where guests will find safety-deposit and storage facilities, an internet point and plenty of tourist information including a range of excursions. Activities such as horse riding, diving and fishing can be arranged here and there is also an airport transfer service and babysitting service. The Conchiglia has a small shop selling useful items, postcards and souvenirs. Quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome in the hotel and there is also a valet-parking service.
