This super little guesthouse style one star hotel in Baveno sits perched on the shores of magnificent Lake Maggiore. Set in a charming Colonial style building typical of the Verbano Cusio Ossola province of Piedmont, and dating from 1924, Hotel La Ripa is run by the welcoming Cardini family. They will happily pull out all the stops to ensure you have a wonderful holiday. Guests can expect a warm welcome upon arrival and this Baveno hotel is situated directly opposite the beautiful Borromeo islands, famous for their gorgeous gardens.

Hotel La Ripa is set within its own extensive gardens and there is also a small private beach adjoining the hotel, where guests will find facilities for kayaking, water skiing and windsurfing. Families with young children are particularly welcome here, and under-sixes stay free of charge in their parents' room - cots are provided for babies under two. A babysitting service is offered and there is plenty of play space in the hotel's gardens. There is also plenty in the way of outdoor attractions and places to visit on hand, with an excellent golf course just 3km away, walking and jogging trails and boat trips out on the lake.

There are just 11 guest rooms at this Baveno accommodation, all with fabulous views out towards the Borromeo islands; some have their own small balcony. Several rooms have their own en-suite shower room, while others share a bathroom with other guests. En-suite rooms come with a complimentary bathrobe and hairdryer and several rooms also have a television. Wireless internet service is available throughout the hotel, free of charge.

The hotel's romantic dining room is particularly pleasant, with its laid-back, informal atmosphere and its menu of traditional regional Italian cuisine accompanied by fine wines from Piemonte. When the weather allows it, meals are served in the garden, alternatively guests can opt for room service if preferred. There is a secure car park here, which is locked at night and which guests may use free of charge. There is also bicycle rental available, a laundry and ironing service and quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome.
