Important sights in the town include the superb fresco cycle by Piero della Francesca, in the city's San Francesco church, and dating from the 1450s. The Duomo, the Piazza Grande, the old town hall - this largely medieval city is rich with historic buildings and artefacts, and has terrific shopping and restaurants too.
