Cagliari's Hotel Mediterraneo has a superb position in the town - gazing out over the Gulf of Cagliari (a quite beautiful view) and on to the Basilica of Bonaria. There is a swimming pool and fully equipped gym. The famous Poetto beach, with a stretch of 6km of white sands, is ten minutes away by car or bus.

This Cagliari hotel also has five conference and meeting rooms, accommodating up to 700 people. Each meeting room has natural light and all have the latest video and sound equipment, with ADSL broadband, PA system, video projector, video conferencing and satellite connections. Cagliari itself has much to see as well as the beach. There is the old town (the 'Castello' or castle) which sits on the top of hill, looking down over the Gulf. The stone defensive walls, dating from the 13th century, are largely intact, with the stunning white limestone of the St Pancras Tower and the Elephant Tower. So struck was novelist DH Lawrence on his first visit to Sardinia and the playing of the Mediterranean sun upon the limestone, that he described Cagliari as 'a white Jerusalem'. See too the Archaeological Museum (with much on the neolithic Nuraghic civilisation of the island), and the Basilica di San Saturnio.
