Imperia's Hotel Miramare occupies a great location 100 metres from the sea. Set in its own private park, which is filled with ancient trees, the four-star hotel enjoys panoramic views across the sparkling gulf. Unwanted noise is not an issue as it is in a quiet residential part of Imperia, a charming town on the Italian Riviera, with an ancient harbour and excellent sports facilities, which include municipal swimming pool and fitness centre, tennis courts, diving and sailing courses and whale-watching trips.

Inland there is stunning scenery, from mountains, valleys and Mediterranean vegetation to explore via an excellent network of biking and hiking trails. Nearby villages offer history, culture and shopping as does Imperia itself. Nice, Cannes, St Tropez and the Principality of Monaco and Monte Carlo are a short hop across the border with France. Within Italy, the flower town of San Remo and historical Genoa make great day trips.

The hotel is a renovated 19th-century patrician villa and rooms are equipped with kitchenettes that include refrigerator, minibar and coffee/tea maker.
