A lovely location for this four-star hotel in the lovely medieval city of Ferrara - the Hotel Orologico is set close by the old defensive walls (mainly built in the 15th and 16th centuries, almost 9km remain). Ferrara is now protected as a UNESCO world heritage site and there is a huge amount of historical interest to see.

Most important you are close to the delightful city centre, with a warren of alleyways making up Ferrara's medieval heart: here you'll find the attractively rickety facades of the Piazza Trento e Trieste, the Via San Romano and the Via delle Volta. Other must-see sights include the Castello Estense, the massively fortified seat of the Este family which once ruled the town (Ferrara became a major political power in the northern Italy of the Middle Ages and after), there are a number of important palazzi and museums and galleries including the Museo della Cattedrale, the Pinacoteca Nazionale and the Jewish Museum.
