You are in the midst of green Tuscan countryside, just a few miles from Cortona (an ancient city awash in history and art). The building is on two floors, the ground floor having the reception and restaurant, the first floor housing five bedrooms, two doubles, two suites and a large library with open fire and comfortable settees. Just outside the villa, the annex has a wine bar, and there is a large pool sitting in the adjoining gardens - a superbly sunny spot surrounded by centuries-old trees.

This Valdichiana hotel was originally constructed as a farmhouse around 1880. A family home through the 20th century, it was continually restored, though always with a keen eye on the historical integrity of the property. This is very much an old Tuscan villa, with a drive paved in sandstone and brick, the old turreted facade, the open porch saying 'welcome'. The hotel has brick archways, handmade cotto floors, exposed wood-beamed ceilings.
