Each of the flats is nicely furnished, each with terrace or balcony, whirlpool bath and kitchenette. The building is a 19th century palazzo and houses 12 apartments. All have air conditioning, minibar-fridge, tea/coffee maker, safe, work desk, phone and bathroom of course.

Lipari is the largest of the islands in the beautiful Aeolian Archipelago, and like its neighbours is a volcano thrust up from the floor of the Tyrrhenian. (Of the Aeolians, only Stromboli is violently active, and makes a spectacular sight at night, spitting fire and lava into the sky). Lipari, as well as a lovely old town dominated by the fortress of the Castello, has superb black beaches of volcanic sand, brilliant blue waters, and the central peak of Monte San'Angelo, which can be hiked by the more energetic visitor. There are boat trips out to neighbouring Vulcano, which has baths of hot mud around the active Cran Cratere, and many of the islands have steam-spouting fumaroles.

Lipari is reached by hydrofoil from Milazzo on Sicily, or by boat ferry from Messina (Sicily) and Reggio Calabria on the Italian mainland. Nearest airports to here are Catania Fontanarossa on Sicily or Reggio Calabria.
