The Residence Hotel Amalfi lies in the centre of this very lovely and very historic town at the heart of Italy's Costiera Amalfitana (perhaps Europe's most beautiful stretch of coastline). The accommodation is on Corso Delle Repubbliche Marinare, right on the seafront in the town and close to all the sights. All the bedrooms either have a sea view onto the Gulf of Salerno, or overlook the road leading up to the Piazza Duomo (the cathedral square in the town). Either way, you have a terrific aspect.

Breakfast is served on a very pretty terrace overlooking the sea, and you are just a couple of minutes from all the town's attractions, with the Cathedral itself just two minutes away. Sights in the town include the Duomo of course, with the Chiostro del Paradiso - an Arab flavoured white cloister of arches and palm trees. There's a museum here too, and next door again is the Museo Civico (town museum). On the waterfront, the Arsenal is a legacy of when this tiny town was, improbably, one of the Mediterranean's great maritime powers. This splendid Amalfi hotel puts you at the heart of it all.
