Hotel Residence Italia, Quartu S. Elena
The impressive Best Western Hotel Residence Italia, Quartu S Elena, opened in 1995. Close to the lovely Poetto beach with its fine white sands and crystal waters, and just 8km from the city of Cagliari. Quartu S Elena is just by the lovely Molentargius Wetlands, which are brimming with wildlife, including the famous flocks of pink flamingo.
Although the town has grown considerably in the past few years, Quartu S Elena has a lovely old quarter where you can see traditional 'campidanesi'- villas built around large central courtyards. Traditional handicrafts, including the making of fine gold jewellery, are still practised here and the area is well known for the production of traditional Sardinian sweets.
The hotel has 83 spacious rooms as well as several bright apartments, all with en-suite facilities and air-conditioning as well as colour TV, direct-dial phone line, fax/modem connection, minibar and safety deposit box.
Professional staff are on hand to help with tourist information and travel reservations and there is plenty of free car parking. Meeting rooms are available to business guests and audio/visual equipment and fax machines may be hired. All major credit cards are welcome.
