Hotel Romea is a glamorous modern hotel located opposite the Archeological Park in the old port of Classe, around 2km from the centre of Ravenna. Just 6km away is the coast and Mirabilandia theme park ... a hot favourite of children of all ages. Ravenna itself is a beautiful city, once the capital of the entire Western Roman Empire and of strategic importance in Byzantine times. As well as its famous Byzantine mosaics of breathtaking beauty and artistry, Ravenna boasts no less than eight historic buildings which have earned it Unesco World Heritage status. The city centre itself is surprisingly modern and un-touristy: a pleasant place to spend a few days shopping and sightseeing.

Hotel Romea has 50 bright, spacious rooms, each with well-appointed private bathroom, direct-dial telephone with fax machine, TV and internet point. Every room is comfortably air-conditioned and a tasty continental breakfast is served in the airy breakfast room. Rooms are fitted with radio-alarm clocks, although personal wake-up calls can be arranged on request. The hotel has a family-friendly approach and children under the age of four stay free of charge in their parents' room. All rooms are accessible by lift and the hotel has a special service to accommodate the hearing impaired.

The hotel has a choice of two excellent restaurants. There is the elegant Veranda Delle Rose, which caters for special events and serves a tempting selection of typical local dishes, and the delightful Romea restaurant with its extensive menu of delicious Italian and international fare. There is of course an extensive wine list offering guests a choice of delectable Italian wines. An inviting lounge/bar serves coffee and aperitifs.

The reception desk is manned day and night and a porter is constantly on hand to assist guests with their baggage. Courteous, attentive staff are happy to help with tips and information on Ravenna and the surrounding area. There is also a left-luggage and safety-deposit facility on reception.
