This lovely four-star hotel in Salerno province is located in the picturesque port of Palinuro, a village on the glorious Cilento coastline about two and a half hours' drive from Naples. According to legend, the village was named after the helmsman of the adventurer Aeneas, who was lulled to sleep by the gods and is said to be buried here - the atmosphere here is indeed one of tranquility and relaxation. The coastline here is dotted with mysterious caves and grottoes, many of which can only be accessed by boat. Hotel Saline is positioned right on a sandy beach a short distance outside the village - there is a courtesy bus which guests can use to get to and from Palinuro.

Palinuro's Hotel Saline has 62 light, airy en-suite guest rooms, all with their own private balcony. Guests have a choice of double or twin rooms with the option of additional beds if required. There is also a selection of six junior suites or family rooms. All the guest rooms are light and airy and have individually controlled air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, satellite television, internet connection, minibar and safe. Bathrooms are fitted with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries are also provided.

Entertainment is provided both for adults and children and there is a mini-club for children between the ages of four and 13. Evening entertainment includes gala dinners and live music around the beautiful sea-water pool. An extensive buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and there is an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, featuring delicious local specialities and freshly caught seafood. There is friendly, professional service on the front desk and amenities include a shuttle bus service to and from Pisciotta railway station, which lies six kilometres away, as well as to the centre of Palinuro. The hotel also has a fabulous panoramic lift/elevator which offers access directly to the pool from all floors. Sports facilities include canoeing, diving and sailing, there is free internet access and quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome in the hotel.
