This three-star accommodation is in Leglio, on the western bank of the lake, and just 8km around the banks from the town of Como itself. At the back of the hotel there are woods and walks up to the mountain of Colmegnone. Out front are the waters of Lago di Como - a magical spot.

Two centuries ago, the only visitors here were the fishermen who would travel up from Como and over-night on the banks. From the early 1800s onwards, various innkeepers spotted the potential of this - one of the most beautiful places you will ever see - and started to develop the chic hotels that drew the rich from all around the world. Others built sumptuous villas here, enjoying the clean air, the sense of peace, the sheer tranquility of the place. Today it is home to the likes of George Clooney.

Leglio's Hotel San Marino has just 12 rooms, so service is never compromised. There is a spacious restaurant with an open terrace, which gazes down upon the waters of the lake. There is a pizzeria and a bar for more informal dining, a play area for the children, a garden with lake view (ideal for special events and celebrations), and there is parking right out front of the hotel. Rooms are single, double, triple and quadruple. All have television and phone, and private bathroom with tub. This Leglio hotel has an open-air pool, table tennis and plenty of space to relax.
