Hotel Savina, Rimini

Rimini's Hotel Savina offers 3-star comfort within easy reach of the town's fine sandy beaches. Rimini is, of course, a long-established favourite for Italian family summer vacations, and the eateries are just as good as you would expect. Clubbers should head to the south of the town: the beachfront area of Riccione has a lively clubbing scene, and some have dubbed it 'the Adriatic Ibiza'. Or head north to explore San Marino, one of the smallest countries in Europe (and one of the oldest, supposedly founded by a Christian slave fleeing Roman persecution in the fourth century AD).
