With a superb position on Lake Como, the three-star Hotel Sole is in Santa Maria Rezzonico (part of San Siro), 6km north of Menaggio. This family 'pensione' is situated directly on the lake, with panoramic views, a garden and beach. There is private parking and a bar, and boat service is available.

The little 'comune' of San Siro is in the Como province of Italy's Lombardy region, on the western banks of Lake Como. Some 70km north of Milan (Milano) and 30km north-east of the town of Como, it has a population of less than 2000 and borders Bellano, Cremia, Dervio, Menaggio, Perledo and Plesio. Nearby towns include Plesio, Menaggio, Griante, Tremezzo, Porlezza, Lezzeno, Gravedona, Pellio Intelvi, Laglio and Lugano (just over the border in Switzerland).

The hotel has a choice of single, double, triple and quadruple rooms and junior suites. All have bathroom and colour TV, and breakfast is provided. This Como hotel has a restaurant, lounge and bar and there is a free car park for guests.

This is one of the most beautiful spots in Italy, and you have the waters of the lake at your front door. Como is the third largest of the Italian Lakes, and one of the deepest lakes in Europe. The distinctive Y-shaped lake is surrounded by hills that rise steeply on all sides, often clad by dark-green forest. There is good walking and climbing, as well as fun on the waters of Como itself.
