This downtown Rome hotel is ideal for seeing the sights of 'Antica Roma'. The Hotel Solis is three-star accommodation located very near to the Forum and the Colosseum. The building is on Via Cavour, one of Rome's main thoroughfares. Each room (a choice of doubles, triples and quadruples) has a private bathroom, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning and refrigerated minibar. This is the heart of Ancient Rome then, but the handy Metro (underground/subway) system will quickly get you anywhere you want to be in the Eternal City - and with more than 2000 years of history, art, architecture and culture to discover, you've plenty of exploring to do. The main railway station (Termini, with connections out to the airports at Fiumicino and Ciampino) is a short ride away. Across the River Tiber and you are at the Vatican and St Peter's Square. A few hundred metres north of here and you can see some of the Renaissance and Baroque splendours of this amazingly diverse city - the Piazza di Spagna, the Spanish Steps, Trinita di Monti, the Trevi Fountain, and much more. Rome also has more than its share of historically important churches, and for less spiritual pursuits, there is some of Europe's finest fashion shopping in the designer stores, on the streets between the Piazza di Spagna and the Corso.
