The Hotel Sylesia is in the centre of Letojanni, a lovely little village set on the Bay of Taormina, just 30 metres from the sea and within easy reach of the historic city of Taormina itself. There is culture, history and ancient sites aplenty to see, but this Letojanni hotel is mostly about rest and relaxation. This was a centre of Ancient Greece of course, and the millennia-old cities of Siracusa and Messina have much to see. There is the brooding bulk of Mount Etna - a day trip to the smouldering peak of the volcano is an absolute must. And right next door you have the lovely old city of Taormina. Dating from Classical times (and with the spectacular Greek Theatre still hosting plays to this day), the core of the town is largely medieval.
